TV Special 1: The Bardock Story

TV Special 2: The Trunks Story

This is the story of the events that lead to Trunks flying his mother's time machine back 20 years to appear in Episode #119 to kill Freeza and King Cold, and to both warn Goku about the impending attack from the Jinzou Ningen and deliver the heart medication that can save Goku's life.

Before the events of Trunks returning to the past, when the Artificial Humans awoke from Dr. Gero's lab on earth, the killed everyone that stood against them. Kuririn, Vegita, Piccolo... And Goku died a year before the androids ever showed up. Died of a mysterious heart disease that could not be cured.

It's now 5 years into this future where the world lives in constant fear of the androids. And as the story opens, the two androids, #18 and her brother #17 are enacting their reign of terror. In the middle of their coup and while her brother is busy running down the people in Pepper Town in his stolen air car, #18 does a little shopping in the Ginza to curb her boredom. With the strongest warriors on Earth all dead, there's not much that can keep her occupied at present.

As this all takes place, Trunks, now aged around 12 or so, flies off to Peppertown only to come across the destruction that is left. Right about the same time, Gohan, in his early 20's, arrives on the scene to see the same destruction.

Capsule Corp has survived relatively through all the mayhem, tucked off in a quiet and well hidden corner of what's left of the East City. Together, Gohan and Trunks decide that they're the earth's last hope. Gohan agrees to train Trunks to fight the androids off, and Bulma seems oblivious to the whole situation.

As Gohan is training Trunks, Chi Chi and her father are doing ok for the time being, staying safe far from the city in their mountain home. We learn that in a very short time, nearly half of the worlds population has been killed by the androids. And the attacks never seem to end.

An amusement park still stands on the outskirts where the locals swear up and down that they're protected from the androids because they still have an army in the city. But the joys of the park are soon cut short when the androids attack outright. Gohan and Trunks just happen to be flying over head when #17 and #18 begin "enjoying" themselves in the park.

Gohan and #17 go one on one with Trunks trying to stand against #18. Poor Trunks is about to be beaten senceless when Gohan rushes in to save him, taking the injured Trunks and hiding off in the park as the androids become bored and fly off to find somewhere else to "play".

Gohan's hurt badly. He has one senzu bean left and decides it's best to give it to Trunks before he passes out.

As Gohan recovers back at Capsule Corp., he continues to train Trunks to become a Super Saiyajin when the Capitol is attacked. Trunks wants desperately to go with Gohan to the Capitol to fight the two androids, and Gohan will have no part of it. He knocks Trunks out cold and takes off on his own leaving Trunks as the last hope for the Earth incase Gohan doesn't make it back.

At the destroyed Capitol, #18's getting bored of her brother's interest in leveling the place flat. She wants to let the people survive and then run them down in their air car. #17's just about to agree with his sister's suggestion when Gohan drops in unexpected and puts #18 through the wringer. The two androids attack with Gohan putting up quite a fight. He seems to have the upper hand when a giant rain storm rolls in over head. The androids both step it up a notch and overwhelm Gohan, peppering him with an attack that could do him in permanently.

Trunks wakes up as the rains hit him and flies off to the demolished Capitol only to find his mentor dead in the midst of all the rubble. The pain and rage that is sparked from seeing his dead mentor finally awakens his Super Saiyajin blood, and Trunks explodes with anger.

Three years later, Trunks and Bulma are comfortably working away at Capsule Corp. Bulma has built a time machine so Trunks can go back to the past and prevent the androids from destroying everything, despite Trunk's constant insisting that he's strong enough to beat the androids WITHOUT going back to the past.

The androids attack again, with Trunks running off against his mother's wish to get his revenge for them killing Gohan. As the fight begins, Trunks doesn't seem to stand a chance. He lands a few lucky bows, but in the end the androids seem to brush them off like so much dust, letting Trunks' power wear down. They toy around with the drained Trunks, more enjoying the fact that they can toss him around and he stays relatively in one piece.

#18 moves in for the kill at her own request...

... and miraculously, Trunks wakes up in the hospital 5 days later. It's then that he agrees to go back in time 20 years to warn Goku about the jinzou-ningen and give him the heart medication that could save his life. Trunks sees it as an opportunity to see his father whom he's never met.

Taking off in the time machine HOPE, Trunks heads back into the past, thus ending up in the midst of Dragon Ball Z episode 119, just in time to kill Freeza and his dad.
